ReunionYou see a close friend; you haven't seen him in so long, and you're excited. He's surrounded by his friends, though, and although most of them you share, there is... one, just one. You decided before that you would face your fear, but now you're not so sure. They don't see you yet, but you don't have time to think. Your friend who's with you sees them too, and she's ready to run and say hello. You have no choice, and you're done running away. You pretend nothing is wrong, you smile and hug and laugh.Reunion

The talking, the laughter. The slam of the lockers. The couple hand-in-hand, and he's carrying her books. The group with the I-don't-give-a-fuck attitude, goofing off. Those guys talking about sports, and girls talking about those guys. The girls raving about the big party this saturday, their friends talking about plans after school, or the latest gossip. But you're silent. You walk with your head down, blocking the world out. Their world, not yours.

A Memory of IvoryLong, graceful fingers nimbly released her chocolate locks from her loose bun. Her hair unraveled down her back in soft curls as the pins that had held her tresses captive dropped to the floor. Her skin glowed with the same purity as fresh snow. Her eyes shone hazel, two orbs of forgiveness, encased in soft, feather like eyelashes. That was how I saw you, in cold rain, on Christmas Eve. I'd seen you plenty of times before throughout the past year, but somehow this was different. That you were sat here, in exactly the same spot as always, struck me as poignant and a wave of melancholy engulfed me.
In the past we preferred to believe you were invisible. That way we didn't have to acknowledge in disgust or guilt the fact that you were here. Whether in summer shine, or autumn chill, our faces remained turned away.
